Walk through the sub-district of Meuraxa in Banda Aceh, Indonesia today and the scars from the destruction of the tsunami are still clearly visible. Yet, in recent months, despite the eeriness that is Meuraxa, neighborhoods are punctuated by the sounds of children playing, laughing and youthful hope. With your support, Operation USA funded the construction of nine playgrounds to help children recoup part of their lost childhood.

CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY CLINICS OPEN HOUSE

Location: Operation USA's warehouse, Wilmington, California

On Monday, April 12, 2006, Operation USA held another successful Community Clinics Open House at our Port of Los Angeles warehouse. Clinics throughout Southern California left the warehouse with truckloads of childrens's diapers for parents who can't afford to purchase them, essential medical supplies that enable clinics to offer free primary care services; and, blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes and more...

LIFE SAVING PRESCRIPTIONS FOR HEALTH ….

Partner: AstraZeneca, Ohm Laboratories, Leiner Health Products, Heart To Heart International and Brother's Brother Foundation

In the past two months, Operation USA has received large donations of life-saving agents such as breast cancer drugs, Vitamin A to help prevent nutrition-related blindness and insulin and antibiotics. These recent shipments, worth over $4.6 million, are headed for communities ravaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita as well as communities throughout the developing world.
