Operation USA Continues To Support Recovery Efforts
In Areas Devastated By Hurricane Katrina

The flood waters have receded, yet the physical and emotional wreckage persists.

As a new holiday season is upon us, our thoughts turn to the many evacuees who will spend a second Thanksgiving, a second Christmas, and a second Holiday season away from home. As we have since the first moments of the storm, Operation USA advocates for the needs of this still fractured community. Holiday Gift Giving

Earn good karma before the year ends! By making a donation in someone's honor, we guarantee that they will love you and appreciate the thought (they will not have to exchange it for a different size or color, it will definitely suit everyone's taste and they can receive more than one!) and, you will be strengthening Operation USA's mission of helping communities alleviate the effects of disasters, disease and endemic poverty throughout the world.

Operation USA's Holiday Toy Drive

Each year, Operation USA coordinates a major Holiday Toy Drive providing cheer to the thousands of displaced and medically uninsured children throughout the greater Los Angeles area. By working in tandem with homeless shelters, battered women's shelters, nonprofit community clinics and group homes, we are able to reach those who would otherwise be overlooked. This year, if we receive enough new toys, we hope to ship some of them to our partner community clinics on the Gulf Coast.

Operation USA Hosts An Old Friend

A very special guest arrived at Operation USA's October 19th housewarming, welcoming donors and neighbors to our new offices in Culver City. Barbara Jones is someone many of us had never met but whose name our entire OpUSA staff is familiar with. Since 1994, every month, without fail, she has sent OpUSA a money order for $20 earmarked for the Rwanda people.  Money for Rwanda has always been hard to come by, so Ms. Jones’ commitment to a forgotten part of Africa has always meant a great deal to us. The Village Walk orphanage in Uganda serves Rwandese orphans and is in desperate need of funds to keep their programs running.  Ms. Jones’ contributions have enabled Village Walk to keep its doors open, bringing children an opportunity for a better future.  Everyone can make a difference and Operation USA celebrates Ms. Jones for her continued generosity!
