Domestic Community Building:
Community Clinics Programs

Loading Free Medical Supplies From Warehouse Loading free medical supplies into vehicles from an "Open House" event held at OpUSA's Port of Los Angeles warehouse.

California’s size and diversity places extraordinary demands on its public health care system. It struggles with an escalating population of uninsured residents, a huge budget deficit, several reductions in social programs, erosion in employer provided coverag,e and closures of trauma centers. An estimated 8 million Californians are uninsured. Community-based clinics have very limited resources, yet they face even greater pressure to make up the shortfalls in the public health care system. They provide a wide range of health services for the newly unemployed, the underinsured and the medically indigent.

Operation USA’s Community Clinics Program fills the supply gap by providing 200 non-profit clinics, school-based clinics, recovery homes, homeless shelters and other community-based groups with free medical supply donations. Through Operation USA’s donations, our clinic partners can transfer every dollar saved into other patient services and continue to provide affordable, quality healthcare to the medically underserved.

Operation USA obtains donated medical materials from corporate health care companies, hospitals and individuals and in turn provides these much needed supplies to our partner clinics. Cumulatively, these donations are worth approximately $2 million per year. Operation USA thanks our partners as their generous support is servicing tens of thousands. For a list of our corporate partners, please click here.

  • To facilitate the transfer of supplies from our donors to the clinics in Los Angeles, Operation USA hosts “Open Houses” at our 25,000 sq. ft. warehouse donated by the Port of Los Angeles and at the 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse in the Port of San Francisco. To read more about our “Open Houses” and responses from clinic directors, please click here.
  • Operation USA's donations include items such as pain medications, vitamins, blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, OB/GYN tables, EKG machines and more.
