OBJECTIVE:
To give Santa Rosa and San Fernando high school children access to computers and an opportunity to learn computer skills.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
10 computers and 2 printers were installed in an existing schoolroom at San Fernando High School, in addition to air conditioning, computer tables and electricity (pulling a line from the municipal electric cables). The children can now take computer classes and are learning such skills as word processing and simple graphic design.

PARTNERS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community: Take care of their computer center and attend classes.
Operation USA: Purchase and ensure safe arrival of computers

RISKS:
Foreseen: Theft; over-crowding.
Unforeseen: Not enough chairs

RESULTS:
Planned: Students take pride in and regularly attend classes at their computer center.
Unplanned: Students use computer programs to do school reports.
