Santa Rosa graduates who finished school because of funding which enabled them to attend high school in nearby San Fernando.

OBJECTIVE:
To provide high school education for the young people of Santa Rosa.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
25 students from the village receive funding to attend high school in nearby San Fernando. The $100 per student provides money for tuition, uniforms, books and transportation to school.

PARTNERS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community: Students understand that they have the opportunity to get a higher level of education and are dedicated to attended classes and keeping up with their studies.
Operation USA: Funding for students.

RISKS:
Foreseen: Accommodating new high school-age students who want to attend school.
Unforeseen: Students unable to fulfill their education. 2 students scholarships were revoked; one was pregnant and one had difficulty adapting.

RESULTS:
Planned: More students were able to attend high school.
Unplanned: Community started a yucca garden whose crops are sold to pay for additional school supplies like pens, pencils and photocopying for the students.
