OBJECTIVE:
To commission a local mural artist to paint a commemorative mural on the wall of the village clinic to celebrate 5 yrs of growth and success through the partnership between the village and Operation USA.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Funded by an event in Los Angeles in September 2004, the Mural Project will incorporate the time-honored traditions of mural painting of Nicaragua with images inspired by the village children to create a vibrant visual testament to commitment and continuity. NICARAGUAN MURALIST, JULIA AGUIRRE, has been asked and accepted the honor. Aguirre is the currently the president of the Nicaraguan Painters Union and specializes in depicting the lives of Nicaraguan women. The mural is painted in Winter 2004.
