Learn more about Operation USA in America

July 2, 2013 — As you celebrate the 4th of July, take a look closer at our programs here in America.

California Clinics Program
For more than 30 years, Operation USA has provided a wide range of supplies to more than 200 nonprofit clinics in California. Operating on tight budgets with limited access to affordable supplies, these clinics would not be able to operate in their communities without this vital support from Operation USA and its partners.

Disaster Relief – Tornado & Hurricane
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in New Orleans, Superstorm Sandy in New York and New Jersey and tornadoes striking Joplin, MO and Oklahoma city all wreaked havoc on American communities in recent years. Operation USA has responded with vital relief supplies — such as electric generators — and made cash grants to community-based nonprofit organizations. This support has enabled those organizations to recover their services and continue to support their communities in times of need.

Disaster Relief – Education & Mental Health Support
In the wake of a disaster such as a hurricane or tornado, children are often left struggling to comprehend the experience and recover in a healthy way. Partnering with local organizations, Operation USA has provided support for children’s programs – such as the Awesome Girls Program in New Orleans – offering education and mental health support for kids in need. Operation USA also plays an important role in community mentoring, directing children of all ages toward community service.

Disaster Preparedness
At times, Operation USA has provided disaster preparedness training to mitigate the effects of recurring natural disasters on community based organizations, further enabling them to serve when called upon.
