Supporting El Salvador

November 18, 2021– has proudly supported the Comité Salvadoreño “El Piche” Foundation here in Los Angeles with in-kind support for many years. As COVID-19 swept the globe, exacerbating already-existing challenges like food insecurity and poverty in the country, OpUSA is so pleased to continue offering support to the people of El Salvador through this wonderful partnership.

In May 2021, OpUSA supplied the El Salvador Foundation with 12,000 masks and 720 bottles of hand sanitizer in support of a community distribution event in East Los Angeles.

In September, we handed off 25 hospital beds to El Piche for shipment to rural hospitals in El Salvador, which are much in need of support due to the ongoing pandemic, years of poverty and recurring natural disasters. We also handed off several pallets of oral rehydration solution generously donated by our partners at Hydralyte, for distribution to senior citizens in care homes in El Salvador.

Last month, we sent a shipment of clothing, sports uniforms and toys for families in need as ongoing poverty, food insecurity and pandemic effects continue to create challenges in the country. We also sent a shipment of hospital equipment to support elderly residents of convalescent homes.
