Syria Refugee Crisis: How To Help

September 9, 2015 — While Operation USA primarily responds to natural disasters, we recognize that man-made disasters often cause equally devastating conditions for all those who are impacted. Currently, the world is facing the worst refugee crisis in decades, with an estimated 4.1 million people having fled Syria to neighboring countries, some of whom have been resettled in countries across Europe, Asia and Africa. Today, there are hundreds of thousands of people still seeking help as they struggle to get their families to safety so they can start to rebuild their lives. Though OpUSA not directly responding to the refugee crisis in Syria, we are actively promoting agencies who are working to help those who have been displaced. If you would like to support a trustworthy organization, we encourage you to check out the work of:

UNHCR
The UN Refugee Agency

IRC
International Rescue Committee

Further, we encourage you to sign the White House petition urging our United States government to take an active role in the resettlement of Syrian refugees here in the US. Sign the petition here:

Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families who have been forced to flee familiar surroundings in the hope of finding safety and a brighter future in a new place. Share this cause with friends, family and colleagues to help spread the word and generate more support.
